Explorer is a dynamic education program designed to engage learners of all ages. We believe that while Early Music (~1000 AD to ~1650 AD) is a rich and varied source of outstanding music, it is also a seemingly bottomless trove of delightful discoveries.
The folks at The Toronto Consort are leveraging their 50 years of performing Early Music to provide audiences, educators, high school students, and life-long learners with meaningful experiences and valuable educational resources. The Explorer Education Program is a three-pronged program providing different learning experiences: In the Classroom, Live Concerts, Online.

Brought to you by The Toronto Consort
Since its founding in 1972, The Toronto Consort has become internationally recognized for its excellence in the performance of medieval, renaissance and early baroque music. Led by a collective of Artistic Associates, the group’s members are amongst Canada’s leading early music specialists, including both singers and instrumentalists on early plucked and bowed strings, flutes, keyboards, and percussion.
Each year the Consort presents a five-production, twelve-concert subscription series at the beautiful Trinity-St. Paul’s Centre located in the Annex neighbourhood of Toronto, Ontario. In addition, the Juno-nominated ensemble tours regularly, has produced over 10 recordings, consulted and performed for historical-drama TV series (Showtime’s The Tudors, The Borgias, The Vikings), and in November 2020 launched industry-leading Early Music TV, which streams in over 80 countries!
